‘no tears for queers’ is a project executed in photo studios. There are no professional models here. Each photo has a specific person with an experience of being queer. I use this word 'queer' in the context of everyone whose identities go beyond the so-called social norm. Each person has their own private experience of living and growing up in a world where you receive violence, non-acceptance and rejection when your identity doesn’t conform to a social norm. This story of fear and violence is also a manifesto of the freedom and courage of the people I meet. I am looking for images that will show those experience when there are no words to express it. I firmly believe that what is on the edge of our culture can say a lot about where we are heading as a society.
